SOD: Led Zeppelin "Over the Hills and Far Away"

It was only a matter of time before a Zep tune made it on here, and it certainly won't be the last (of the month!). It's an amazing song, though not their best. But who's to say what their best song is. A run-of-the mill Zeppelin tune is better than the best song written by 95% of other bands and artists out there.

Most of their songs are journeys. Lyrically, musically, even visually. There is change throughout these songs. Chords and themes may be repeated, but with slight differences. And you never wind up where you started. That goes for the music, and for your own head. Emotionally you've gone through a transformation. Your state of mind may be altered, and no, it's not from the drugs.

This popular tune off "Houses of the Holy," was not only a concert staple, but has found its way onto classic rock stations everywhere. That being said, it's still worth checking out, if not for the amazing video accompaniment.
